Hi Folks, I have concluded my open water season and I am preparing for the hard water. October was a decent t fishing month. The best trout fishing of the year. Saw a good number of young wild rainbows and few good ones along the way. Mostly all subsurface fishing with very little bug activity or rising fish. I did do a little steelhead fishing in the Great Lakes and it was pretty good.
Winter has now arrived in northern Vermont. It has been snowing, the ski season is beginning, and our lakes are beginning the freezing process. I anticipate at this rate that I should be ice fishing by the third week in December. The long range forecast looks good and cold. Typically, the first fishable bodies of water for ice fishing are northern pike, walleye, and yellow perch lakes. I will be offering half day and full day trips this winter. All of the equipment is provided including a heated shanty. Looking forward to ice fishing! Remember to clean your gear and keep the non-native species at home. Have Fun, Willy
